Non-OEM knobs are an after market knob made by Simquip and finished to a very high standard making them highly authentic reproductions at a fraction of the OEM price.
Knobs are one of the final cosmetic touches that will make or break the fidelity of the flightdeck. We have seen many occasions where the constructor opted to use Radio Shack substitutes or the like. This screams ‘Amateur’ !! and will destroy the look and feel of the constructors work.
Others choose to use ‘Purchase and paint’ method in which a knob blank is painted and striped.This method is fraught with many dangers and these knobs usually do not hold up to scrutiny and the requirements of rigorous use.
